Emma Jensen: What Are You Listening To?

Emma Jensen: What Are You Listening To?

Emerging Norwegian pop artist Emma Jensen has released her newest single, “Rush,” which rolls off the momentum of her previous singles “Closer” and “Make You Mine.”

Listen below to the influential tracks that has found itself into Jensen’s music.

***

Twin Shadow, “Twins Team (Interlude)”
1:29 minutes of perfection.

Lykke Li, “hard rain”
In LOVE with Lykke Li’s new album, and this is one of my favorites. The lyrics and production are everything. I’m a sucker for a trap beat with pop vocals.

Wet, “Don’t Wanna Be Your Girl”
Been listening to Wet for a while now. This track is so timeless and just the right amount of everything. It’s only six different lines, but damn, those lines are so good. Kelly Zutrau’s voice is from another planet.

LANY, “yea babe, no way”
I could fill this entire playlist with LANY, but I had to narrow it down to this one. They’ve been such a big inspiration when it comes to sound, production and lyrics. I met LANY once, and had a total fangirl moment. I wanted to seem really cool, but the only thing I managed to say was “Hey” and then I freaked out. They’re my favorite indie pop band.

Charlie Hanson, “Mood”
This my mood.

Banks, “Crowded Places”
Makes me cry.

Lykke Li, “so sad so sexy”
Another one of my favorites on Lykke Li’s new album. Controversially, I didn’t love her previous one. But THIS! The 808’s, the synths, the big drums, and her voice obviously. It’s the perfect mix of RnB, trap, and pop. And I wish I had a song with that title.

Two Feet, “Love Is a Bitch”
Didn’t know what to do when I heard this for the first time. I felt so many things. It was like my heart got really warm, and I wanted to cry and scream at the same time. Still makes me feel like that.

SOPHIE, “Is It Cold In the Water?”
Beautiful. SOPHIE is crazy. Her new album is like a collection of insanely cool production.

ALMA, “Fake Gucci”
I don’t have cash, money, gold diamonds. Puts me in a good mood.

Mura Masa, “1 Night (feat. Charli XCX)”
Mura Masa is one of my favorite producers. Charli makes this track even more perfect.

Twin Shadow, “Brace (feat. Rainsford)”
I discovered Twin Shadow on GTA, haha. I love listening to this while driving.

Troye Sivan, “Dance To This (feat. Ariana Grande)”
The drums at 2:30!!! Troye is taking back the 80s in such a tasteful way.

Peter Cetera, “Restless Heart”
I listen to this before I go on stage. Peter Cetera has been my mood for the last six months.
