Dhani Harrison on Finally Using His Own Name

Dhani Harrison’s In Parallel, the first record he’s released under his name, is a swirling mix of his work and life up until now.

There’s the familiar psych-tinged rock & roll that Beatles fans might associate with his father, George (“Admiral of the Upside Down”), or his former project, thenewno2. There’s a bright vein of EDM (“Poseidon,” among other tracks). Plus, a wash of orchestral shimmer, brought to you by Harrison’s work scoring films and TV shows. It’s a patchwork of a record that somehow seems of a piece, despite its mixing and mingling of styles.
