Enter Shikari: What Are You Listening To?

On their fifth record, The Spark, Enter Shikari have breached their solidified post-hardcore approach with a more confident and melodic electronic sound.

After a successful arena tour in 2016, the four-piece got in the studio with producer David Kosten (Everything Everything, Bat for Lashes) to further their evolution toward a brighter, more dexterous sound. Lead singer Rou Reynolds gives us a glimpse at what has been inspiring the band in a TIDAL-exclusive playlist.

High Contrast & Boy Matthews, “The Beat Don’t Feel the Same”
High Contrast was one of the first drum & bass producers I got into; his back catalogue is now so broad, diverse and brilliant. This is such a nostalgic tune.

Ghetts & Shakka, “Know My Ting”
Ghetts is one of my favourite MCs. He carves his sentences so they sound so phonetically pleasing and have such flow.

Everything Everything, “Can’t Do”
Their new album is first class from start to finish. The lead single is just so feel-good, brilliantly produced and catchy as hell.

Enter Shikari, “Live Outside”
A tribute to the joy of escaping the noise of your own head.

Bonobo & Innov Gnawa, “Bambro Koyo Ganda”
Amazing samples and synths, as well as beautiful vocals. A real delight in headphones.

Sticky Blood, JiKay & Frisco, “Oh My Days”
You can’t help but make a scrunched-up, appreciative face when this drops. Real class on this beat and production.

Arcade Fire, “Signs of Life”
Whole album is brilliant. Sounds like Abba in places. What more could you want?

Tourist & Ardyn, “We Stayed Up All Night”
This song’s always in my head for ages after listening to it. Such a chilled vibe.

Whiney, “In the Night (Salute Remix)”
Whiney’s new album is class, but I’m especially loving this remix at the moment. It’s a really different vibe from the original.

Death from Above 1979, “Freeze Me”
Love this band. Love this song. Riffs for days.

Fred V & Grafix, “Clap Funk”
One of a trio of great tunes and definitely one to have a wiggle to.
