HAIM Is Here To Score Your Life-Changing Summer
TIDAL Scopes is a new series in which our resident astrologer, Annabel Gat, looks to the stars to see what’s in store for the latest releases. Next up, we have HAIM’s new record, Something to Tell You, out now.

July: beaches, barbecues — and intense emotions that leave you crying all day long? Yes, it’s an emotional AF start to the summer, thanks to a few planets in emotional, moody Water sign Cancer opposing Pluto (the planet of death and transformation) in cold, hard Capricorn. Will HAIM’s Something to Tell You be the soundtrack to the fresh start the astrological forecast is predicting? Or will this album just provide the anthems to these distressing early summer days?
The reality check brought by the full moon in Capricorn on July 9 was hard to cash, but it’s better to know the truth than ignore it, right? July 10 brought an opposition between the Sun, in Cancer, and Pluto, in Capricorn — in muggle-speak, this means power struggles, confrontations and secrets coming to light. It also means it’s time to change — no matter how painful the process. Staying stuck in your bad habits just isn’t an option. Work it out with the tracks “Night So Long” and “Walking Away.”
So, will things ever chill out? Yes. Communication planet Mercury connects with Jupiter on July 14, birthing big ideas and exciting connections. Party to “Little of Your Love” during this exciting and inspiring transit.
A big shift in energy will take place on July 22 when the Sun enters fierce Fire sign Leo — goodbye, moody Cancer! (Although, let’s not hate on Cancer too much; the sign of the crab is awesome in the kitchen and usually knows how to cuddle).
July 23’s new moon in Leo promises a fresh start and an opportunity to step into your spotlight — although, you’ll have to tap into (and trust, which is not always easy) your intuition to get there. Listen to “Found it in Silence” as you sort this out.
July brings some hard realizations and reveals, but it’s better to be in the know than in the dark, right? August brings a Mercury retrograde as well as eclipses, so this is sure to be an intense and life-changing summer.
My advice? Get clear on your personal boundaries and embrace change — the old ways of doing things just won’t work anymore! You might rock out to “Want You Back” to someone special; however, it’s best you move on — and if you run into them in the future, then I guess it was meant to be!
