How Ian Sweet’s Label Stalked Them Into Submission

How Ian Sweet’s Label Stalked Them Into Submission

Ian Sweet signed to Seattle’s Hardly Art in 2016 after one very persistent label publicist, Jason Baxter, came to see them at a clown-themed bar. Yes, you read the right.

The Brooklyn band went on to release their debut LP, Shapeshifter, with Baxter and Co. last year, a collection of shining songs that nevertheless came from bouts of severe depression and anxiety on the part of lead singer Jilian Medford.

TIDAL got the chance to meet the band (after chatting with Medford’s mom) at the 2017 Northside Festival, where they told us about getting signed and playing live.
