Go Behind the Scenes of Joey Bada$$’s ‘Temptation’ Video

Earlier this week, rapper Joey Bada$$ brought the gospel with his “Temptation” video. Set in his native Brooklyn, the timely visual for the All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ cut finds him as the Pro Era MC rapping about the struggle of African-Americans in the U.S. He also strolls through the neighborhood and throws a block party before taking his rhymes to the pulpit in front of a congregation.

Despite the feelings of restlessness that pervade his mind, Bada$$ is light on his feet in the clip, even spitting game on the sidewalk while holding a little girl’s hand. “Tell me how we gon’ make a livin’/Hustle on the block, who gon’ save the children?,” he raps. “Man it’s all a plot and I’m just revealin’/The media just tryna make a villain.”

Bada$$ also let the cameras follow him on-set as he was shooting the video. “Shit was amazing, been up since 6 a.m. and got three hours of sleep last night,” he says in the clip before letting off a quickie freestyle and later mingling with a crowd of fans.

If that weren’t enough, Bada$$ also shared a playlist of his career highlights. Glide into the weekend with his curated essentials below.
