Queen of Jeans: What Are You Listening To?

The Rising Philadelphia rock band shares with TIDAL a playlist of their current favorites in celebration of their newest record, Dig Yourself, which is out now and featured in TIDAL Rising.

***

Laura Nyro,”The Wind”
Incredible songwriter and beautiful, ethereal vocals on this track, in particular, that inspired a bunch of the harmonies in our music.

Darlene Love, “Strange Love”
Darlene Love is one of my absolute favorites and the production on the song is so huge!

The Fresh & Onlys, “Until The End Of Time”
Really fun surf vibes that make you throw out your neck dancing to it.

Angel Olsen, “Forgiven/Forgotten”
This entire album is incredible, but this song specifically inspired a lot of the sounds on our album.

Cass McCombs, “There Can Be Only One”
Just gotta sum it up that this song rules.

Weyes Blood, “Seven Words”
I love her voice and her songwriting. Also, went to a Halloween party one year and she was there dressed as Michael Jackson – Pollock, so forever a fan.

Chris Bell, “You And Your Sister”
I love the vulnerability in his voice and the guitar work.

The Searchers, “When You Walk In The Room”
For some reason, I love to work out to this song?

Nancy Sinatra, “How Does That Grab You, Darlin’?”
There’s more than one way to skin a cat, ya know.

The Pretenders, “Show Me”
The Pretenders is one of my favorite bands, and Chrissie Hynde’s voice has definitely influenced my own vocal stylin’.

Neko Case, “This Tornado Loves You”
This song is so beautiful, I’ve always admired Neko Case’s songwriting for its imagery.

Mitski, “Francis Forever”
The heartbreaker of the millennial generation.

Warpaint, “Baby”
Warpaint is a favorite in our band, and one of the first bonds the three of us made, so we have always been inspired by their songs.

Nashville Cast (Connie Britton, Charles Esten), “No One Will Ever Love You”
Do you watch Nashville? If not, what are you doing with your life? Not crying enough, probably.

The Morning Benders, “Excuses”
One of the first songs my partner ever sent to me, so I will always love it immensely. It’s also just an incredible song that just builds and builds, so by the end you’re in tears and reaching for chocolate. Is that just me?
