Strange Relations Premieres Video for “Sure” Exclusively on TIDAL
Rising Minneapolis group Strange Relations has steadily increased their profile in the Midwest, amongst a region of burgeoning rock bands, due to their constant evolution. Their latest record, Editorial You, found them expanding upon their straightforward pop-rock stylings for a more rollicking, transformative approach to their cryptic, but engaging lyrical content. Today, TIDAL is happy to premiere the video for the group’s standout track, “Sure.” Stay tuned for more music from the group in 2018.
Below, the band has shared some of the inspiration behind the new video:
“We made this video in Minneapolis with our friends, filmmaker James Christenson and dance group Kelvin Wailey. This song invites introspection even as it begs empathy; the choreography and directing evoke that duality. Each figure experiences her own circulation: in isolation, beside one another, bearing witness; then paralleled, in shared motion; and finally, interweaving, holding each other. Using a “forgotten phrase,” the dancers create the sense of returning to a particular space, a particular thought, and build upon this rooting to bring the singular from the foggy edges of memory to the communal. Never doubt the power of empathy. You’re never as alone as you may feel.”
TIDAL is proud to announce the world's first music service with High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly curated Editorial.
