Irv Gotti’s infamous hip-hop label, Murder Inc. Records, is back. With a roster of hitmakers in the past that included Ja Rule, Ashanti, Vita, Charli Baltimore among others and a new partnership with 300 Entertainment, the house Irv Gotti built is now home to an eclectic mix of acts including Boogiie Byrd, Fitted Circle and Sir Preme.
First up is Washington, D.C. MC Boogiie Byrd, who bridges club and conscious with his wide-ranging catalog, bookended by the chill party tune “We Need” and the deep cut, “Good Die Young,” which finds the melodic rapper crooning about the lost ones of his native city. Blast his viral track “Murda, Murda” (which namechecks his mentors, Irv and his brother, Chris Gotti) and there’s no doubt his rhyme work sticks to ears immediately.
Then enters Fitted Circle, the Atlanta-by-way-of-St. Louis duo—comprised of brothers, Davo and Dallas—who swerve in and out of woozy R&B and Dab-ready raps. Produced by Irv Gotti and Chinx Santana, “Low 4 Me” is F.C.’s hazy centerpiece, made for strip club money showers and also inspired by a first-time trip to Magic City with Gotti. The song also complements the bottle-service friendly track “Higher.” Fitted Circle’s M.O. is swaggy rap made for the paper-chasing masses.
To round out Murder Inc 2.0, Brooklyn’s own Sir Preme delivers the type of R&B that chases brown liquor shots like the emotional number “Pain.” The Jacksonville, Florida transplant also flexes his full-bodied vocals like the heartbreak anthem “It’s Whatever” and the romantic slow jam “Let Me Know,” intended to soundtrack life’s lows and highs.
Music from all three artists get shine on Irv Gotti’s TALES, the BET anthology series that turns hip-hop classics into cinematic episodes. The uncensored director’s cut of Episode 1 will also arrive exclusively on TIDAL this Thursday (July 27). You can hear more from Boogiie Byrd, Fitted Circle and Sir Preme when the show’s official soundtrack, Irv Gotti Presents….TALES The Playlist, drops this Friday.
TIDAL is proud to announce the world's first music service with High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and expertly curated Editorial.
